Trina McGee

Director of Finance and Operations

Trina McGee (she/her) is a nonprofit arts leader and multidisciplinary theater artist dedicated to community-based storytelling and collaborative art-making. She serves as APTP’s Managing Director, guiding the company’s operational strategy, financial stewardship, and organizational growth while collaborating in the creation of APTP’s original, ensemble-devised theater. She has built her career at the intersection of artistic excellence and organizational leadership. 

Trina first worked with APTP in 2016 as Resident Production Manager for the company’s first immersive production, Learning Curve. Over the following six years, she played a key role in advancing the organization’s artistic programming and operational capacity. In 2022, she joined APTP’s full-time staff as Operations Manager and later served as Director of Production for Port of Entry, an acclaimed immersive performance exploring the lives of new Americans, before transitioning into senior leadership overseeing the organization’s finance and operations.

Prior to joining APTP’s staff, Trina was a co-founder of NewMoon Chicago, an immersive entertainment and events company. She also served as Associate Director at Redmoon Theater, where she co-directed numerous immersive productions and events. Her work included directing and producing Redmoon performances in partnership with organizations such as Lagunitas Brewing Company, the Toledo Museum of Art, and Hermès China. She holds a BA in Theater from Northwestern University.

Originally from the Philadelphia area, Trina has served as Chair of Merchandising for the Philadelphia Folk Festival since 2017, helping raise funds that support arts access and music education initiatives through the Philadelphia Folksong Society.
