Canción para un Sueño

For two weeks in May 2020, two dozen APTP artists, separated by stay-at-home orders, rehearsed, created and filmed a performance of a new work: Canción para un Sueño. Our first-ever digital piece emerged from a song featured in APTP’s Amor de Lejos (2003), a play inspired by interviews of immigrant day laborers from Central America. Distance can complicate collaboration, but – fueled by a deep desire to connect and create – our 2020 team used their bodies, voices and instruments to reach each other and transcend barriers.
