Share Your Albany Park Story

We’re gathering stories from the people who make Albany Park the unique place it is.

Maybe you’ve lived here most of your life. Maybe you grew up here and moved away. Maybe you just arrived.

Maybe you raise children here, go to school here, work here, own a business, attend a church or mosque, or remember growing up here years ago.

If Albany Park has been part of your life, we want to hear from you.

Sit Down With Us

We’re inviting community members with all kinds of experiences to have a one-on-one conversation with a member of the Spaces Albany Park team.

There is no script, and you don’t need to prepare.

You decide what you want to talk about.

  • Your connection to Albany Park
  • Places that matter to you
  • People and relationships that have shaped your experience here
  • Memories you carry with you
  • Changes you’ve witnessed
  • Moments when you felt especially connected — or disconnected — from the neighborhood
  • What makes a perfect Albany Park day
  • It’s up to you!

How long is the conversation?

Usually 1–2 hours.

Where will we meet?

Wherever you feel comfortable: a community space, a cafe, a park, APTP’s office, your business or workplace, or another convenient location.

What languages can I speak?

Interviews are available in English, Spanish, Tagalog, Arabic, Korean, and Polish. If you prefer another language, let us know and we’ll do our best to arrange it.

What will happen with my story?

Some interview participants will be invited to become community storytellers in the Spaces Albany Park public performances in Fall 2027. APTP artists will help them shape and prepare their stories for sharing with audiences.

Having an interview does not require you to participate in the performances.

The first step is simply a conversation.
